e5s 6s
« on: April 15, 2013, 07:55:27 PM »
I like my new e5. i have about 10 flights on it.
Setup is :
4025 1100kv with 12 tooth
jive 80hv
align610
align650
i like to fly it on 6s 4000 at about 2100 (smooth 3d) i really like the light disc with the 4000mah lips
i am thinking to stretch it to a e5s and run some new 5000mah 6s packs at around 2000-2100
Has anyone tried this set up?
The tail is perfect at 2100 on 550mm blades should i speed up the tail if i am going with the 600mm blades

600s are very hard on 6S packs which is why almost all 600s run more than 6S.  Here is what Matt said about tail gears:

OnTheSnap,

Around 9500-10k is your target tail rotor RPM if you want the tail to hold as described. This is why I designed in the optional tail ratio.... The E5 has options for everyone! :)
I have been running the 4.0:1 Tail Ratio on a stretched E5 at 2350 RPM with very good results. This is with both 96mm and 106mm tail blades.

Thanks,

Matt
