Ball link driver for synergy links

Hi,

Will a ball link driver for 700 size links fit synergy ball links?

The synergy helicopters use a larger, 5.5mm ball. Currently the only link plyers I know of that are this big are the synergy specific pliers sold at Fblrotors.com. You can always take a dremmel and open up the standard 700 pliers but this will render them useless on your other Helis.

Thanks for the reply. The problem I'm having is not with removing the links from the balls. The problem is winding the ball links onto the rods. I can get so far then they become really tights and really hard work to wind them on any further.

I haven't found a link wrench large enough to go over them. My fingers are usually a touch soar after setting up a new set of links.

I can relate to the sore fingers from twisting and sore hands from holding the rod tight with pliers. However one thing I found that makes it a bit easier is to put a single drop of light oil on the tip of the rod before I start threading the link on.

I do mean only a drop though. It spreads itself on the threads as I make my way down but then the link is tight enough still it won't back out which it shouldn't anyway since the link can't spin once it's on a ball.

Guys K&S company makes a plastic ball link twister that works pretty good you just have to get in there and open it up a little bit.

I've used the K&S plastic link "drivers" since 07 or 08 on Synergy links. They are a tight fit but a little work with a file or small dremel bit works wonders. Back when the only Synergy specifc tool was a Hypersizer. Also had to
open up a standard set of ball link pliers too..
 "Synergies have big balls"!!! ;)

I have these ball end tools work great no modification.
They work great for pushing ball links back on when pliers don't fit.

 So these fit Matt's Ball's ? Synergy has the biggest balls I believe in the industry. I have to say I have never heard of a tool that would work with these (Building up links). This is the only thing I dread in building any kit.  I had this discussion a while back regarding the Links and the size of other manufactures Balls and available tools to aid in assembly.  When I started flying Synergy some time ago, that's one of the features I heard people mention regarding the quality of these machines, and the extra strength these provide. just wished they had a tool to fit them, good to know! I will be ordering some tonight. With that being said Bigger is Better.. ;D

Yeah the fit great. I think I have the ti links from FBL Rotors. I think the ball ends ends are the same.
