Fuel Delivery issue YS60
« on: June 13, 2013, 05:52:18 PM »
Okay, I have pressure to the tank, pressure to the regulator but after that nothing. I even pulled the glow plug and hit the starter, nothing is getting in. Is there something I am suppose to remove in the regulator/carb area first? The instructions say nothing of it.

Stumped,

Can you post some pics of your hose routing?

Have you tried pulling the line off the carb and turning it over? Wonder if you are not getting the pressure you think you are or if the fuel filter is plugged.

Also double check the check value. Make sure it isn't turned around and restricting pressure n

I think he has pressure in the Tank? wouldn't think the fault to be the check valve then, What about pulling the regulator apart and checking the diaphragm, Also blow through the fuel Ports within the carb and Diaphragm with compressed air with needles out (after you Log where they are at)and (with the diaphragm out) and make sure all loose parts are out!! I have seen this more than once... ? I agree with Chris, send some pic's as well.

good luck,

fuel filter flow arrow going the right way if you have one installed?? clunk line? And I'm assuming reading this again, you have fuel to the regulator or just pressure?? Motor the engine over with your starter and the fuel line to the regulator/carb off (no glow igniter) throttle wide open! and see if you get fuel! if you don't then you clearly have a plumbing issue, do you run a header tank?  Lastly and I have to ask. Your throttle isn't reversed is it?? when you motor it over, with the throttle/collective pulled back to its stop, does it sound faint and as you advance the throttle does it get louder.. and what your going to be hearing is the air being pulled into the carb.. also see if it makes it stops on the carb when you retard or advance the throttle. check the length of hose from back plate to check valve.. these are just a series of questions that may lead to a resolution to your issue... keep us informed..  if it is easier to call rather than type, call me @ (404) 809-1622. I will be more than happy to talk to you!!! ;)

Regards,

Kevin

I did this prior to hitting the glow switch for the first time. I used the starter to check the tank pressure before I unclamped the line to the regulator. Once I thought I had pressure to the tank I pulled the line off the regulator and released the clamp...fuel shot all over the wall...time to repaint. I plugged the fuel line back to the regulator and pulled the pressure line off the fuel tank had a strong pressure release from the tank. Satisfied with that I went out side and tried to start it.....whole bunch of nothing...back in the house pulled the regulator saw fuel in the regulator...with the fuel line connected I pushed gently on the black plastic disc and fuel started to flow so I know fuel is making it at least that far. I will post pictures as soon as I get a chance.

Thanks for the input so far,

We got fire boys! Fuel filter was bad, replaced it with another one and it started. Thanks to everyone that made suggestions I would have pulled my hair out, got frustrated and went back to electric.
