Height of main battery area?
« on: October 12, 2011, 09:16:34 PM »
I'm trying to decide between an E7 and the M/A Whiplash, and one of the things I like about the latter is that main batteries don't protrude out of the frame (don't want to taco an expensive pack in a nose-first crash).

I'm wondering what the height of the main battery area is in the E7.  Is there any chance that two batteries could be stacked on top of each other (thus pulling the front one backwards further into the frame)?

The height is ample for almost any battery.
There is 72mm of clearance before any interference.

Also, no worries about destroying packs, there is a carbon plate that extends past the frames to protect them.

I agree, it's going to be very hard to find a battery that is bigger then the tray.

I still doubt you could stack two batteries on top of each other as asked in the OP

Don't need to stack the battery area is like 12.5 inches deep X 2.5 wide x 3.25 inches high.

There is an option for stacking batteries up front. I don't like it but I've seen it done.

One battery goes where the ESC is supposed to go.
The other battery goes in the normal location.

The ESC gets mounted on the bottom side of the ESC plate.
