Hobbywing 100a and scorpion timing
« on: August 27, 2013, 10:14:24 PM »
Is any one hear using this combo? The Hkiii 4025 1100kv calls for 5* timing and the
HW 100a will only do 3.75 or 7 deg. And up. (With the firmware I'm running)
I know this is not the best esc for the 6s high amp job but I'm gona get a mezon on it soon.
I just want to get it in the air soon.   Unless some one speaks up ill try it at 3.75 or look for a firmware update.

And hi every one I'm new here.  I should be taking my first synergy for maiden tomorrow.

I ran that same setup on my 6s E5 for a very long time.  I ran with the stock timing, sorry don't know what that is now been nearly a year. I just know I never adjusted it after taking the ESC out of the package.

I know someone running 7 with no real issues too.

For a brief second yes. The Hobbywing can handle amp spikes for short duration. My buddy Wes still has his setup with a hobbywing 100 and it's going strong well over 100 flights.

Ok nice to hear that its working good. I had a 100A ESC but ended up pulling the trigger on a Edge 120 to be safe...

The stock timing is 15 degs! That seems large to me. I'm not sure if its the same thing on a castle or if its a different measure but it seems to me that that 15 degs on the setup I've got on my 700 would burn somthing up..!

I believe I ran 11.25 degs my bl500mx which is also a 10 pole 6s motor.

Thank you for you input Chris,  did you ever try the gov mode on your hw 100a?

 Your e5-s vids are grate.

I ran the governor on a 150A Hobbywing that I was using on my E5, at first.  I also ran it on my Compass 6HV with a 70A HW.  It's not terrible.

Castle timing is different scale. 15 isnt scarry most of the time.

The internal gov on the hobbywing isnt hateful but I ran mine with vbar and ikon govs

sent from my Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 2

Only time for a first test hover befor sundown.  Only got it up to about 1400-1600 hs
(So sloppy tail).  Vary nice vary quiet.   Scorpion vary hot at 7.5 degs...
Esc and batt seemed a good warm temp for a low hs 3 min hover.
I'll just have to remember not to touch the scorpion.

I may be testing for the weekend. Or I may have got things perfect on the first try
Thanks to you all.
