Set your main and tail gains to 90 and agility to 100 or lower to start.  Style is a personal feel thing, I like 70.  This will get you going.

Mike,
Just to be sure, are you using a mini vbar or full size? The gains will be different with a mini.  Also, is this an e7 or E7se?

May need to put it in a zip file, if you haven't already. Most email providers will block unknown file attachment types.

thanks guys for the files. I think I will be going back with the BD, or maybe an IKon. I cant get the vbar to fly correctly despite my efforts and cant get any help on HF. I will hold out until Bill can look at it in a few weeks, but if we cant figure it out, it will be replaced. the cyclic feels good, but different. pitches in FFF unlike the BD too.

my main issue is when I jab elevator back and forth to check cyclic precomp, the nose walks to the right like a clock. I can change cyclic precomp from 20 to -25 and it does the exact same thing. no matter where the pre comp is. or the tail gain. it also slowly rotates counterclockwise (backwards to my issue in elevator jabs) at hover. no matter what I do with it. other than those issues, it flys ok. but when I do front flips, or back flips, the tail is NEVER where it should be. I didn't even get into tail first flight after noticing this, so I cant comment on that.

shortly after this my ESC caught on fire in my E5 and put her in hard. total re-kit. I was flying better than I ever had that day too.....lol....go figure huh?

Sorry you are having troubles.  Didn't see this anywhere but what size blades are you running? Also what gov are you using? Did you have the same issue with the tail moving during flips on your E5?

blades are rail 716mm and rail 116mm.

I am using the CC gov. I also played with gov gains as well, I couldn't compound, or relieve the issue at all with the gov gain.

I run BD on my E5, so no, the tail has been rock solid. The BD probably has the strongest tail and best tendencies in FFF of any controller that I have touched. if they could get the elevator bounce worked out in the hard stops then it would be the perfect unit. oh, and piro comp like the vbar, that is really neat and I liked it.

I mean, I really like the way the vbar feels, but the tail is killing me! I get the fact that the heli has to be flown constantly, but I flew a guys N7 with a CGY750 on it, and the tail was right where it was supposed to be the whole time when I was flipping. another thing I like about the vbar is the pitch pump speed increase. that really  helps with tick tocks. on tick tocks it wants to walk left too (tail [nose right] and whole heli too).

Bill Kervaski is in your area and is proficient with the Vbar. I bet he could get you going quickly.
