Crunched a blade practicing autos today. She floats like a feather. Guess I shouldn't have said he C word in the last post?

Is it hard on the clutch to click out of throttle hold in idle up? It seems very harsh as it kicks back in very hard.

it can prematurely wear the actual clutch and cause it to fail. it generates more heat because it will slip a little until it grabs, it also slings those shoes out very quickly. i only allow it to do this when i need to bail out of an auto. i have my bailout setup a little slower though and i can usually tell by the time i am around 25' or so if i need to dump it and get out or not. meaning i dont need it to spool up in 1 second flat...lol

i have seen some guys actually break in a new clutch liner like that before though too. so i can be done, does it hurt it, down the line, probably ages it quickly....

I think I will turn up my TH idle speed to practice autos. Wonder if there is a mix in the 14sg the could be switched to accommodate auto practice. Going to have to do some investigating.

well, you want the clutch to disengage during the auto. in the
unlikely event
the OWB locked up, it could damage your motor.
