Standard throttle curve for an OS 55 HZ R
« on: May 26, 2014, 08:17:55 AM »
Hello,

Since yesterday, I perform some breaking in flights with my OS 55 HZ R.

I have noticed vibrations. I think it is, maybe, due to my very conservative throttle curve (because of breaking in phasis).

Up to now, I use in normal mode: 8 45 65 75 75.  I foresee to use for ID1 75 75 75 75 75 et ID2  80 80 80 80 80.

With my calibration 0 on the radio equals "carburator fully closed" and 100 equals "carburzator fully open"

Could you give me some examples of your curves for an OS 55 HZ or HZ R?

I understand that the optimal point is near 17000-18000 rpm for the OS. So, which radio value I need to use to get it?

Thanks

Are you running a governor? If not it would be a lot easier for you curves would be based on your flying style. With no gov. You need to be using a V curve 80 75 50 75 80 something like that will get you started

I will do.

But at a first step, I perform my running in flights with my Normal Mode curve, I use generaly only for the take off or landing phase.

In fact, I would like to know with carburator opened at 65% during hovering, it is too low or not for the heading speed, and it could be a reason of my heli shaking?

I would bump up your normal higher and see if vibes go away. The vibes may just be low head speed related and/or a very rich engine. Once you start leaning you may see this may go away. Once you have a tank through it you can start leaning it out. Just don't get over jealous.

Cheers

In order to break the motor in it needs to get hot or the ring will not seat correctly the best way IMO is to fly it at the head speed it intended to and try not to bog the motor just easy flights getting the motor hot then letting it cool and doing it again for a total of 5 tanks souls be good some people only do 3 tanks.

Thanks for for your advices Flyalan & Tommy Wagner.

My N5C flights better now. With higher throttle curve and leaner setting.
