Question on Tail Slider Lock Ring
« on: May 01, 2014, 05:58:29 AM »
The manual mentions securing the Tail Slider Lock Ring with CA or epoxy. Is this really necessary and how would any glue stay on there at 9k rpm anyway?

I have also use JB weld. You only need a little bit to help hold it on.

I've built two E5 kits.  Both kits came with the tail slider lock ring very tight; it will not come out.  It's almost as if some sort of adhesive was already applied.  I did not apply CA to this tail slider lock ring to either kit.

If I were to build another E5 kit, or fix a crashed E5, I would use the new metal tail slider used in the E7SE kit.

I used a bit of ca with accelerator and it holds on really well, even after hundred of flights. It's insurance . JB Welds would work too.
