Receiver pack endurance?
« on: May 10, 2014, 04:39:57 AM »
Well now I have my OS55 tuned nicely and having great fun, however, I was very surprised that my RX battery has gone from 6 down to 4 flights only, today ended at 18% after 4 x 8 min flights and probably a min either side on the ground.
I have Align 610 servos plus a 650 on the tail, a Gryphon regulator set at 6v, this does not get too hot either. Yes I have Telemetry but that only draws about 100ma. Overall, current is about 3A average whilst flying, doesnt sound too bad.
The battery is a Thunder Power 2700ma 2S, must have got a bit more agressive once the engine was tuned, is this normal for battery size?

Sounds right. Now that your engine is tuned you are likely getting longer flight times.
With Futaba servos I use about 450-500 mah per flight. Align  servos from my experience use more amps. Also are you running a switch glo?
Cheers

OK thanks, yes switch glo I forgot to mention but thats only just over 1A for 15 Secs max per flight, starts that well!
If its in the ballpark may have to get a spare or maybe take my small charger with me and top up from a 4S Lipo, charger has 12-18v I/P so should be good for 2 charges off that. With electric you do not notice the consumption as such, may check out the Castle logs on my 550, has the same servos so be good to compare.
