Do I use Loctite on these screws?
« on: December 26, 2013, 09:24:53 PM »
The E7SE manual makes it a point in the diagrams to use blue Loctite on most of the screws.  However, the diagrams do not show to use blue Loctite on the following screws:  Tail box socket head screw (100-308), M2.5x10 main shaft collar screw, and the two main boom clamp M3x10 socket head screws (100-310).

It is my understanding that general one is supposed to use Loctite when screws go onto metal.  However, these screws tighten clamps, and I don't know if this makes a difference.

Should I use or not use Loctite on these screws?

You do not need loctite on any screws that go into clamps. The split clamp acts like a lock washer when you tighten it.

It's not needed but I used locktite mine.  Any screw that goes into metal I put locktite on.

Rodney and Chris are right of course,  I still use the rule, "When in doubt, err on the side of locktite".

So no Loctite needed for these 100-323 M3/23 Socket Head screws that hold the washout control arm to the head?

Correct.  Pinch bolts do not need thread lock!
