No biggie I will stick with the 12s packs just like going fast sometimes. Not trying to break any records.

No pricing has been released as of yet. Anything would be pure speculation at this point  :)

So now that the speed canopy is public, lets get some talk going here.
Alan, I've ran the Scorpion 4530 450 motor for awhile now.  With a YGE 160 and 14s 4400 packs.
Just recently went to a 13T pinion. What have you done as far as tail gear ratios? I went back to
the the standard ratio 54T/12T on the tail and tried 96 tail blades. Seems to hold the tail fairly well.
What are everyone else's thoughts?

chuck
Mine is stock tail ratio and 96 ' s. Tail holds well even in 3d.  At that headspeed it should :-) 3d is crazy with this setup btw..
I have backed the tail gain down as some folks do.  After I get more comfortable flying this setup I may.

Cheers
Alan

My speed machine is still in prototyping but I am playing with some minor changes to the frame. Matt, Alan, I and a few others chatted about this extensively at the BHam event.

My electronics setup is finalized:
Scorpion 4530-450kv 14s motor
14t pinion (Old 116 main gear and matching 14t pinion)
Kontronik KOSMIK 200a ESC
Headspeeds gov ~2300/2500/2700
iKON FBL with 2 3D/Sport banks to use with lower head speeds and 1 Bank setup for speed
KOSMIK Mode 4 Gov
JLog 2.6 /w telemetry integration on the Futaba R7008SB Fasstest RX and 14SG radio
Futaba BLS255HV Cyclics
Futaba BLS256HV Rudder
KOSMIK BEC @ 8v
Pulse Ultra 14s 4100mAh stick pack 45C
Thunder Power G8 70C 14S 4400mAh Stick pack
PRC6 battery connectors
Rail 716 mains
Rail 96 tails

I am still playing with pitch ranges. I may ultimately adjust swash height to allow for 16-17 degrees of collective with no Cyclic interaction but that will severely limit the amount of negative pitch I can run which will prevent any light 3D with this frame. That might be ok with some of the other changes to the heli I am thinking about with Matt's guidance of course.

The biggest thing here is practice, practice, practice. The fastest machine in the world is useless if you can't control it and keep it on course. As I found last year at the Speed Cup at IRCHA, that is way more difficult than it sounds!
