Fine days flying on Good Friday and was practising inverted autos, it was quite windy.
Anyway, flipped hold inverted but wasnt happy and bailed out with Kontronic Helijive auto bailout setup.
Must of got confused, E7 was getting away from me down wind towards the wet part of the Salt Lake.
Well it was almost a dot and lost sight of it twice, then tried a few manouvres to try and determine orientation.
Managed to flip but positive pitch sent it crazy sidways so that was a clue, adjusted so it went straight up.
Then gentle left/right cyclic to see which way it goes, opposite is good, same is tail in, so got it opposite and pushed the nose down.
After what seemed like an eternity the heli stated to get bigger until I could get it down, phew.
Anyway, put another battery on almost straight away and cracked inverted autos pretty well, thats hitting hold when inverted then rolling out half way down for a normal landing, good enough for now, happy days
Point is that I have practised this situation a lot on the sim, fly away until its a dot, mix it up with random control inputs, then try and get it back, do it until the orientation tests become instinctive, saved a heli today
