What happens when the Boom support clamp is not tight???
« on: April 19, 2014, 05:18:37 PM »
The helicopter spools up nice and when it reaches speed the tail hunts like crazy!!!!
A wicked fast wag.

I couldn't figure out what was wrong. I dialed down the tail gain so low that it was nice and steady spooled up sitting on the ground, but when I started to lift the tail started hunting pretty violently and the whole helicopter shook.

Its when I was putting the E5 back in the car I noticed that the boom support clamp was loose. The socket head bolt was gone! And you guessed it, not a sign of having had thread lock :(
That's one of those, "I'll get to it later", bolts during the build.

I borrowed a bolt from my Furion, secured the clamp and enjoyed my E5 once again.

All is well.
