Had an issue mounting servos
« on: May 27, 2014, 09:00:20 AM »
I ran into a clearance problem mounting my L/R cyclic servos last night.  The servo cable would not allow the servo to swing into position.  I had to pull the top bearing plate loose and raise it up to allow the cable to clear the plate.  Perhaps a build mod to install the servos before the rear frame is attached to the bearing plates would be better.  What are your thoughts on that and has anybody else had this issue?

PS. the manual shows a servo with no cable. piece - o - cake like that.

Had another thought. Don't put thread lock on the screws that hold the top plate until the servos are installed.  That might be the best fix.

Hi Whitehedr,

What servos are you running?

Some servos like the BK Servos and RJX have a larger rubber grommet where the wire exits the servo case and this does'nt allow much flex when installing into the main mechanics.

Hope this helps,

Yep, the large rubber grommet of my RJX servos is what caused the grief.
