Headspeed en Pitch settings
« on: June 30, 2014, 03:44:36 AM »
Hi guys,

Switched the powerboost for a hatori sb22 muffler on my OS105. Running 1950 on Spartan vortex governor with 20% optifuel. Is it safe to run a higher headspeed with this combo?
I have a 12 degrees pitch setting now but a like to have little bit more.
Like to hear your thoughts,

Thanks 👍

Running +13/-13 on my machine without issue.  Changing the muffler doesn't change the overall gear ratio of the machine so I don't think you'll want to go more than 1950.  What are you looking for the machine to do that it's not doing currently at the current headspeed?

I want it a little faster on big air figures. With the hatori i can run a higher headspeed and maybe some extra pitch will make it faster. Like to hear your experience.

On mine with the Hatori its already very fast. Also running 13 degrees and 1950.

Cheers

I have the Hatori on mine and, for the heck of it I ran +/-14 degrees cyclic at 1950 rpm one day and that thing hardly bogged at all at full collective.  I was just kind of standing there with my jaw on the floor watching it go.
