Great suggestions from all! It comes down to personal preference but the +/-2300 range is a good place to start.

Thanks Mike and Matt.

Its clear from the many posts we see that everyone who has one loves the E5.
A really versatile heli that's a pleasure to fly, whatever your chosen config and setup.
I'm sure happy with mine. :)

so guys, check this out. I have been flying my new e5 and tuning the FBL unit for a week or so. I set the gov to 2350, 2450. I do all of my flying in 2350, don't even know why I set up 2450 honestly. the entire time I was thinking the HS sounded high, but just trusted the ESC.

I went to the field yesterday and a fellow flyer thought the same. he  happened to have tach we tached the head, and WOW, it was spinning 2760! lol I knew it sounded high, but not that high!!!

I am running the older HK 4025 1100kv motor. when I setup the gov, I mistakenly got the pole count of the new HKIII motor. I put 10 in there, the motor only has 8. that was crazy fast, but man did that heli fly good too! we fixed the pole count and re tached the head and she is right where she is supposed to be, 2350.

funny thing, after fixing the gov, I still get the same amount of flight time out of my packs.....how in the world does that work???  3:30-4:00min.....I figured flight time would go up a little after turning the head down to the correct HS....

2760!  :o

Apart from the incorrect pole count in the FBL, what main gears are you running?

stock main gear and 13T pinion. stock tail ratio too....

the pole count being wrong actually over drives the KV of the motor and makes it spin faster.....crazy huh?
