Want to do a 6s 780 KV build, and I have a 15 tooth, but would like to get the headspeed a little lower?
Anybody seen a 16t or 17t available?
Any ideas- is or has there been a different mfg. pinion with the same slant gear?

Hi,

if you're after a lower headspeed you need to go to a smaller pinion.
They're available 12T thru 14T.

As Wolf said: smaller motor pinion = lower head speed. You should be able to achieve any reasonable head speed with the available pinions and proper motor selection. There are no aftermarket pinions that I'm aware of that match Matt's design. They are custom cut for maximum efficiency and low noise. What head speed are you after and what ESC/gov are you using?

Shooting for around 2400 rpm, built flying 550 blades

Looking at Mr. Mel's, looks like I am going to be around 2200

I would recommend using a motor in a higher kv range if you want that kind of head speed from a 6s machine. It's best to choose your motor based on the gear ratio you would like to run to achieve your desired headspeed. Most people run motors in the 1100kv range for 6s setups. I thought maybe you were going for a low head speed setup.
