I am new to the Synergy forum and I have been looking at the E5 as my next helicopter.  I would be running the helicopter on 6s5000ma batteries that I currently have in operation.  I noticed that the E5 has been out for a while. Can someone tell what upgrades have been added over the initial released version?  Any major changes coming to the E5?

1) The two pinions included with the kit (12T and 14T) are now Hard Coat. 

2) The washout control arms are now HD

3) I believe the 13T Spur Gear is now Hard Coat, but someone else please verify.

There are now more upgrade options compared to 2012:

1) You can upgrade to the slop-free 766 style swash with the 10mm ball

2) You can now upgrade to the 43mm cyclic turnbuckle links used on the 766

3) You can upgrade the blade grip links to turnbuckles.  SAB H0170-S turnbuckles.

4) There are now "kits" to stretch to 606mm and 626mm blades

Thanks for the information!  I know that there has been many posts about components for the E5.  I have components put aside for the E5 plus several components I need to buy.  How does my component list look for a E5 build running 6s5000?

Great choice on components.  Since you are planning on using an external 2S receiver pack, there may not be much value to using the CC BEC Pro.  The MKS servos you are using will run very well on a 2S LiPo.  The BEC Pro would be a better option if you were planning on powering the electronics with the flight pack.  Whatever option you use to power the electronics, considered using a 4700uF capacitor connected to either the FBL unit (the theoretical better option) or the receiver.

Welcome! You will definitely enjoy the E5.. it is the most versatile heli on the market! The kit will have everything you need for the 550 class you plan to build. There are a few upgrades you can purchase if u so choose.. a new style swash & Synergy 766 turnbuckles, stretch kits... but none of these are necessary.. the kit has everything and it flys amazing! Your stated electronics will be fine.. if you are running HV servos an RX pack will be fine, if standard use the BEC.. I wouldn't use both... it's a great machine! Order one & enjoy the build!

I think I will go with the CC BEC to run the servos and receiver, no 2s lipo in the system. Why do you added a 4700 capacitor and how is it wired?  Also, I am assumed I have selected the right motor for a 6s heli. Thanks in advance for everyone's help and suggestions.

I used those very same MKS servos on a 700 size MA Whiplash with the CC BEC Pro powered by the first 6S pack and set to 7.5v.  It worked very well and I never ran into any issues.  I did not use a capacitor back then.  So why do I suggest using a 4700uF capacitor now when I did not need it back then?   Now that I use telemetry, I can tell that using a capacitor maintains a smoother voltage curve and the voltage dips are of less magnitude.  Since they are only $5, easy to install, and not very intrusive, I decided to install capacitors on all my helis.  About wiring, it is pretty easy. They come with standard servo connectors, so you just plug them to any empty power port on the FBL unit or receiver.
