Clutch for a synergy N5C
« on: January 31, 2018, 01:59:05 PM »
I have a clutch housing that is spinning and I can stop it with my finger along with the main gear. The clutch shoes are spinning with the engine. My starting wand to start the engine is going counterclockwise.

To me the main gear should not even be turning until I increase the throttle but it is turning to the engine idle speed but can be stopped with a finger touching it. Any suggestions?

New clutch, one way bearing, assembled wrong? It is a new build.

Thx

Sounds like a brand new clutch and liner to me there’s a little bit a drag the clearance is minor. If you could hold the head with your hand easily you’re fine.  It will stop doing that after a few flights.

Well I did forget to mention that when I apply throttle the blades do not spool up , just stays

the same and the engine does not have a load on it just revving up.

Well the engine has to hit a certain rpm before the clutch engages. Can you take the blades off and take a video?

Ok I will try this weekend. I work at night so I also try tomorrow or next day . Thank you helping

me out. I will also see if it is operator error like an error on the programming side.

If I am reading this right, sounds like you might have the autorotation hub in backwards. If you can rev the motor and the clutch engages but the main blades do not spin up. This is probably your problem. Easy fix, just take out the main gear and flip it over. It is mentioned in the manual.

That's what I'm thinking, too, after the last reply.

so basically take out the  main gear, unscrew the auto hub , and reassemble on the other side of main gear? Correct?

On the N5C, since the main gear is a straight tooth.. and the hub is semectrical... all u need do is flip their gear over w the hub installed as is.. just flip the entire assembly over and u should be good to go.

Working as intended. :)

Followed Sowersr and Rodney and Cml001 instructions just flipped the main gear reassembled the main mast back into original place. Fired it up and spooled up as intended. Throttle hold needs to be adjusted higher though

Thank you for the help.
