Getting an E7 soon. Used, but looks to be good condition. Seller will ship tomorrow.

Excitement ensues!

I bought only one new heli during my career and that was a VigorCS.

Everything else was used. Used helis fly better because they know you'll just get rid of them if they act all snooty!

I have the heli, now the questions. First up is what is this and how does it fit? I assume it is a battery tray, but doesn't seem to fit the heli.

That's not a synergy tray. The E7 did not.come with a tray.
Not sure what heli that belongs too?
Cheers

Another question:

When rotating the rotor, it seems tight and doesnt spin freely. Before installing the tailboom, the mainshaft was what would be expected. The tail shaft turns freely when not in the belt. All associated bearings (idlers and such) are free and smooth. I get the idea it's the belt drive. So, I checked to ensure its not twisted in the boom and other typical mistakes made when you're excited to get the thing together.

Is the belt drive just tight on these?

Also, I read (somewhere) that the belt should be lubed with silicone spray. Why is that? I never did that on all my other belt drive helis.

Thanks again!

It's been quite a long time since I've had my belted E7 and I cannot really remember how things felt with it all together.  I changed mine over to TT not long after I got it.  One thing I do remember is that if you do not have the Kevlar belt, make sure that the belt does not get over-tightened or it can break (I speak from experience).

Is it possible the torque tube conversion is still available?

Actual conversion kits...no
All of the parts are readily available.
I had the complete list at one point. Will see if I can locate it.
I can put together a conversion. Just PM me... Or an email to admin@helilids.com

Finally got it in the air this weekend.

FYI when the guy sold it as BNF, I think he meant Bent N F***d. Everything was bent on it. Mainshaft, spindle, etc.

Thanks to Chuck Bole and his amazing support, I was able to fly.

Congrats.  Good thing you went through it all before you tried to fly it!
