Pitch gauge and leveler
« on: October 12, 2019, 04:21:36 PM »
What did you use to set 0 pitch as well as high and low?  Which gauge, system, tool used?  Does a swash leveler exist that works for the 516?
Thanks

I use a bevel box strapped to the main blade grips.  Also have used these..

For a swash leveler most 10mm shaft units will work.. I have the Lynx version here.

I use the soko heli tool.
Accurate, reliable, fits in the blade grips on any heli from 450-800+
No need for any other swash leveller

Its available in the USA from amain.com, you could check for others.

Heres a link to their website,

Its a great tool to use once you understand the concept and its all explained in the information section on the soko website. They do it better than I could

Their method relies on getting the  heli mainshaft vertical, or using a virtual mainshaft feature.  The rest of the steps flow from that.
I made a simple leveling board (see pic with my 516 mounted), this gives you a solid base that you clamp the heli down on and adjusting screws in 3 places that you wind up or down to get that first step done right. I prefer that over the virtual mainshaft approach.

Hope that helps.
