E7 Flight report
« on: October 02, 2011, 06:08:05 PM »
Hi everyone finally got my E7 built and flying great, Thanks to Matt for helping getting it tweaked out perfectly.

Heres my setup!

E7
Edge 693 Fbl/ 105 tail blades
Hacker tornado 470kv
6S Sky 5000 40c packs
Castle 80Hv with bec pro
CGY750
255HV/251 servos.

Upgrades,
Rc booya quick release canopy mounts for the rear.

Changes.
Longer balls for the swash plate.

The Heli flys awesome very fast and stable with a ton of power and quickness even with 5000mah packs (I would suggest 4500mah packs for weight and easier to get in and out of the frame)

Will post some pics and video up soon!

Once again thank you Matt for all your help!

Hi,

I'm interested in the use of an 80 amp ESC.  Shortly I'll have an ICE 2 HV80 back from recall, and it would save me some $$ to be able to put this on.  Thinking of using one of the new Scorpion 4035-450 motors on 12S as I can't get the 12L Hacker in the UK.  Would this be fine for medium 3D??  I'm no stick-banger, but do sometimes fly quite hard.

Thanks, Al

Hi Zack (or Matt), were these balls different than the ones on the stock production swashplate? I've gotta admit it's always a hoot to ask about "balls" on forums, but I really am curious about the difference -- I hope to maiden in the next day or two.

Thanks!

Hey Al I think the 80 will be fine, with the hacker motor, heavy 5000mah packs, edge blades with Matt flying it pretty hard at 2150HS it was fine. My averages were around 40-60 with some spikes but no bad. Give the 80 a try I think it will be more than plenty.

ElectricSheep, They are longer than the stock ones Matt gave them to me so i'm not 100% sure what part number they may be or where you can get them. Hopefully he'll chime in and let you know!! but the stock ones are fine to get it flying the longer ones made it quicker around center and more throw to the blades. Maybe Matt will be able to explain it better.

Thanks Zack.  I'll give the HV80 a go, if it was alright for Matt I'm sure it will be just fine for me!!
