Flight Pack- Which do you prefer???
« on: August 06, 2012, 05:29:21 PM »
Hello,
Trying to get a headcount of how many of you like to use LiFe (A123) cells for your flight packs. I really like the unregulated, near linear 6.6v discharge and am looking at getting some made that fit the N5C form factor.

 Thanks,

LiFe all the way! Simple solution and almost foolproof. Well almost!  Must remember to charge them :-)
Only did that once!

I am using the hobbico 2100 life pack.  It fits great and balances the heli just fine.  I fly 3 flights on each pack.  When i charge i am putting roughly 900 mah back in.  I love how simple they are to use.

I'm using direct 2s lipo.  Using the 3600mah green pulse rx packs and get 5 to 6 min flights using torq 9180 and 9188 combo.

I now use a 2S Pulse 3600 mAh LiPo with a Scott Gray X2 reg. They are a good weight and size for their capacity. I get 5 to 6 flights out of it without any troubles.

I'm using a 2100 LiFe pack. It fits perfectly, I get 5 flights comfortably, and they run at 6.6 so no reg on the throttle servo.
