N5c Build and Review Video's
« on: September 27, 2012, 10:46:38 AM »
Hi Folks

I got myself a N5c kit at the Heliextravaganza 2012 last weekend.  I am working doing a build video series for my website/youtube channel.  I am a bit slow but hopefully I will soon be posting video's

I have started assembly so far only about 7 or 8 steps in playing camera man and builder is a bit time consuming.

Any way here is whats going into it.

N5c Kit
Torque Tube Upgrade / Conversion coming as soon as its available :)
O.S. 55HZ-R w/Powerboost Pipell Limited Edition Engine  w/ Futaba RPM back plate sensor
Align 615 Cyclic's
Align Min Throttle Servo
Align HV Tail Servo
Vbar Silver Line Pro w/2 DSX sat rx's
Push Glow System
Life 6.6v 2000 mah 20c
Rail Main Blades
Rail Tail Blades
ect....

So far I like the quality of the kit and this OS engine should kick buttocks.
I plan on breaking the build video's up into sections then a review video with first flights.

Thanks
Bill

Hi bill,

You have the Futaba rpm sensor, does that work with the vbar?  I use the Spektrum backplate sensor on mine  :)

Hey

According to Vbar the futaba will work i will let everyone know one way or the other.  Surely it will.  It might require moving a wire or two but surely it will lets hope it will :)

Thanks
Bill

All sensors work with Vbar. Only the align one do you need to move wires

I am using the Futaba back plate sensor. Plugged right in.

The 96mm ones are what I run on mine and they are fine. They hold quite well and make the tail feel solid.

Congrats Bill. and Welcome to Synergy.
I know how you feel.  Just finished the N5C last night.  Yes the one I tried to work on at Heli Extravaganza.
I do know the head is solid! Right Matt  :)

Cheers,
Alan

Mikado cannot even confirm that the Futaba sensor will work with the vbar, this has been asked on a lot of other forums and everyone that has tried says that it does not work??
I really want it to work as I think it will be neater than the Spektrum bps.

The 96 are good for the N5c!!! The N5 is the one that can not run the 96mm tail blades it has a smaller tail assy.

Hi All

I am making some headway on building.  I hope to have some video out soon.  I will be cutting it up in to short segments.  Hopefully that will help some folks if they get stuck on a certain step.  I do have one problem.  I have a bad tail idler pulley / bearing set.  I sent Matt a private message. Hopefully I will get one soon.   Starting to get excited about flying this thing.  I still have a ways to go so I will keep plugging along and just put that new one on when I get it.

Thanks
Bill

Hey Bill,

I'm sure Matt will get in contact with you. Once you're all done you'll be even more excited once you actually fly it. I'll never forget the maiden on mine. I was blown away. Thanks to you also for taking the time and effort to make build videos, that should prove very useful for some in the build process!
