I totally agree Rich. I was told "unofficially" by a Futaba employee they were good to 6v and the 6.3v from the LiFe (yes, some are 6.6v) wasn't an issue. Good to see they updated the info showing they are 6v capable.

It would be nice if "TowerHobbies" would put out some of this info. The last time the specs were updated from T.H. was 8/2009.

Is there another thread around here talking about the failure? I am curious to see some logs from speed controllers and what kind of setup they are running.

So here are some options now that I have FINALLY decided on which servos to run, the BLS 255 256 combo

6s set-up

Jive 100 with bec

Scorpion 130 without the bec and either:  buy a bec or run a small lipo pack

CC160hv with a bec

So should I do the super hercules or stay away from the external bec and run another lipo pack, or will the jive 100 be able to handle the HV servos...or do I need to step up to the jive 120 so I can run the internal bec and simplify the setup?

Again, sorry I keep asking questions but I'd rather measure 3 times and cut once.  Or to say it in our terms, ask a few times and not crash a few times because of the wrong equipment.
Thanks!

The Castle 160HV will not fit on the standard mounting area on the nose of the E5, its too long.  Looked at that option last week. The argument over the internal BEC has been beat to death and in the interest of not starting it all over again I'll say this.  I modeled my E5 and E7 after Matt's and use the CC BEC pro on both the E5 and E7.  I use the CC HV120 on the E5 and the CC HV160 on the E7.  I will never be able to put the beat down on electronics that Matt does if it's good enough for him it will handle anything I can throw at it.  Opinions may vary, this is mine.  No need to apologize for asking questions, this forum exists for that purpose alone.  I for one am happy to help in any way possible.

Thanks again Rich. I think that will be my plan. I any to model my E5 to be comparable to what you and matt have because I think it will be easier to get set up help if I need.

There is enough experience on this forum to help you no matter which route you go and plenty of great people willing to help.  As I said before Synergy really is a family, the best I have seen in 17 years of RC.
