I was just looking at my flight logs after I got home and my E5 has already passed my E7 in total number of flights.  Amazing how much more you can fly a helicopter when it's not in pieces, LOL.

Rodney, we are waiting on your review.  Tell us what you think.

Rich

I think I jinxed myself, is what I think.  I wadded up my E5 today.  I put the remains in the rig and flew the E7, right up until something on it broke.  I heard kind of a snap and then I had no control at all.  I got to stand there and watch it slowly go in and destroy the brand new Rail blades I had just installed.  One of the ball links had backed out of the pitch arms.  I'm not sure if it happened before the crash, or after, for sure.  I think it probably was the cause of the crash, though, because the pitch linkage wasn't bent at all, so it doesn't look like it took a hit.

I really really like the E5, a lot.  I'm so bummed right now.  I'll probably wait until after the new year before I rebuild either one of them, I don't know.

Here's a weird one.  On the E5 crash, the plastic landing struts survived but one of the aluminum landing gear mounts snapped in half.

Wow Rodney, I am sorry to hear that man :(

What happened on the E5? was it a mechanical failure?  That's some bum luck for sure.

I know it won't make you feel better, but I do know how you feel. I piled in my E5 HARD a day or two ago.  Total dumb thumb, positive pitch when negative was needed fairly close to the ground.  :'(

Building E6 then will work on rebuilding the E5.

Rodney, I'm sorry brother!  I can commiserate I wadded up my E7 on it's fifth flight.  I remember being angry, baffled and certainly disheartened.  As a friend said to me I'll now say to you " if this was easy everyone one would do it because, when things are good it's so much fun".  Remember what you love about flying and rebuild.  Let me know if I can help.

Thanks guys.

On the plus side...  I got more flights on the E5, without crashing, than on any of the helicopters I've had!  I seriously love the way the E5 flies and I will definitely be flying again soon.

Thanks for the offer Chris.  I actually ordered the TT upgrade parts the other day.  After I got the parts from you and got it flying again, I couldn't get the belt to not slap in the tail boom and I really like the TT on the E5.

Oh, and Rich... today's crashes weren't quite as bad as one I had last weekend.

Both crashes happened while I was doing the same thing so maybe I need to not do that thing anymore for a while.  ;D

I suppose there is no substitute for altitude (it the one that seems to do the most damage) or experience.  I'm sure you will master "that thing".  Just have someone put the field gremlins back in the cage before your next attempt.   :)
