Let me second the welcome Barry. I currently am in the middle of an E5 build and it will remain and E5 on 6S however this will be my first true electric heli so that's why I want to keep it that way.
When it boils down to it you're going to want to decide how big you want and how much you're okay with spending in set up and crash costs. The E5 is a great size in the middle since it's a true 550 class and you can always stretch it to a 600 class if you want that bigger presence at a later time. Plus with the ability to start with 6S batteries and go all the way up to 12S on a stretch, the power options are virtually limitless.
I'm just a big advocate of starting in this class because it can grow as you grow or stay the same if you prefer to remain there.
