I think a lot of us have accidentally done this at one time or another, but it is usually not more than 2 or 3 seconds at the most. If it was 30-45 seconds, I am sure there is some serious damage. It is like putting a nitro heli at full throttle with the head in a vice. It will only run for so long before destroying the clutch and other parts.
Wish it wasn't that way, but we have really strong servos and robust control systems now, so the lid was pretty much ripped of the bottle of magic smoke.
