Tail boom install E5
« on: March 11, 2013, 10:18:26 AM »
Quick question regarding the note in the manual for installing the tail boom. IT states on page 36 "do not slide the tail boom forward any more than flush with the front boom clamp!. This can place pressure on transmission gear mesh. More details please. I can push the tail boom all the way til it stops but this Important note has got me puzzled on how far to push the boom in the clamp.
Thanks,
Rick

If you look through the hole in the frame next to the TT transmission, you can see the front boom clamp. Make sure when you push the boom in it doesn't hang out in front of the boom clamp. You want it as close to flush as possible.  This will prevent the boom from pushing on the transmission and causing a miss alignment of the gears and or stressing the TT causing a binding.

Hey Kevin ,

On a trip right now just saw your post. Almost done with the tweaking and final setup and will try to fly her before I head to California for a week ( I have one day to clean and repack suitcase ). I may stick the e5 in the nose and try to find a field in CA.
