e7 cyclic pitch??

  good morning from Texas,..I was just finishing up my new e7 build and when programming the cyclic pitch (sk540) , I only get 7.5 degrees pitch

  I't would probably fly this way but 10 degrees is recommended in the setup,I stop dialing up the numbers just before it goes yellow.

  that would indicate it's getting too high so I stopped, any suggestions?,...another quick question,...I would really like to know why the difference in cyclic pitches,....beastx recommends 8* and the sk540 recommends 10*.

  why the difference and what bennefits does 8* over 10*,.....which is for 3d?,...anyway,..

My understanding is that on most FBL units you are simply telling the unit where 8 (or 10) degrees is in relation to the overall input throw from the radio.  It is a reference point for the unit. Most units have some sort of agility setting that determines overall roll and flip rates.
You can change out the outer swash balls for shorter ones.  That will increase your throws at the head.  Part Number 107-106.

Alan is right.
This is just a calibration setting.
The actual cyclic rate is usually set via an "agaility" setting.

 luckily I had the small balls in my reserve,...I swapped them out and gained almost a half degree more cyclic.

  that sets me about 7.9-8*,...I'm using the soko leveler( fantastic addition to my heli tools btw) I was thinking of using the longer ones on the carbon servo horns but am afraid that it may cause the horn to flex or twist.

  so I think I'll settle with what I have,..oh..I just noticed the new se has the one piece head and follower arm,.like my e5, and was just wondering why don't they come up with a one piece,lol,..and there it was,..after watching Rob and the new promo vid I checked it out,...

  fantanstic pilot btw,..wonder if the new head would help with more cyclic pitch?,...will this new head be available for the older e7,...I'm thinking a different main shaft as well.

Actually. On the sk540 and ikon the cyclic pitch setting is in fact setting the baseline overall cyclic pitch not just calibrating the resolution. I have found that 9 degrees is ideal with sk540 and you can over drive that a bit with your rates if you need.

Of you find you aren't getting enough travel then you have too much servo resolution and you need to move the balls out on the servo arms. I found the synergy CF arms aren't a perfect match geometry wise with the SK unit.

I have used the VBar, CGY750 and Helicommand and the carbon arms with no issues. Too bad they don't seem to work with the Skookum? They are a great feature.

It's not exactly a Skookum problem. All servos have a certain amount of internal resolution. Different gear trains, different gear ratios etc.

I have found that with futaba servos, and some of the cordless savox servos, the cf arms worked great on a 540. But my JR, outrage, and align servos, you need a slightly longer servo arm on the cyclics.

Will it fly with the 8 degrees of cyclic pitch you can get with the CF arms? Absolutely! It will probably be more than enough and you can crank the rates to your hearts content.

Another note. If you read the SK wizard carefully, when it is having you center servos level swash set pitch and cyclic pitch. It speaks about going into an advanced menu and adjusting up the default max range of the servos.  You might find you can get more travel if you need it. Not saying that helps with cyclic pitch but its something to watch. In my opinion, SK is a little overly cautious with the default travels.
