Pinions and Motors
« on: September 06, 2011, 10:48:54 PM »
I'm almost patiently waiting on a E7 and geting all my goodies lined up for it.
Planning on running 14S. With a 116T main gear, exactly what tooth count pinions
will be available?

thanks
chuck

I need to get the parts into the ordering system. Still negotiating a few prices with the CNC shop.

I run a Kontronics Powerjazz. it's out of production, i think for the last 2 years or so. It's rated to 15S 100A constant and 200A peak. There are several companies producing a 14S ESC. Jeti/Hacker, YGE, Schulze. I heard rumors a while back Castle was working on something but haven't heard anything in a long time.

We ran 14S on my E9 "Synergizer" two years ago. Had Matt check it out at IRCHA '10.  Planning on setting up my  E7 with a Turnado A50-14L (400Kv) with a 13T pinion on 14S TP 4400 65C.
According to the head speed calculator it should come out close to this.
Quote
Throttle 65%: 2021
Throttle 70%: 2082
Throttle 75%: 2144
Throttle 80%: 2205

Shooting for 2100 RPM.
 We'll see what it'll do.

Will the Rave ENV Helical pinion work on the E7?

I do not think so for a couple reasons.

1. I selected a very specific angle on the helical gear to reduce vertical lift as well as operate silently
2. The E7 pinion has a stop collar designed in to eliminate any additional vertical gear movement.

Thanks,

Matt

Patiently waiting for a 13T here as well. While the 14T seems to run okay with the X-Era 4530-500, it's still out of the powerband a little. Hopefully not too much longer as my flying season is closing fast!!
