Gary,

If it's the HKIII-4035-500KV, then it changes everything on the ESC side. The motor Alan is running is the 4530-500KV LE.

Here are the specs for your motor: (As you can see the Amp specifications are far less on this motor)
Specifications
Stator Diameter    40 mm (1.57 in)
Stator Thickness    35 mm (1.024 in)
No. of Stator Arms    12
Magnet Poles    10
Motor Wind    9 Turn Delta
Motor Wire    21 - Strand 0.29mm
Motor Kv    500KV RPM / Volt
No-Load Current (IO)    2.02 Amps @ 10v
Motor Resistance (RM)    0.016 Ohms
Max Continuous Current    84 Amps
Max Continuous Power    3500 Watts
Weight    460 Grams (16.22 oz)
Outside Diameter    49.98 mm (1.97 in)
Shaft Diameter    5.98 mm (0.235 in)
Body Length    61.8 mm (2.43 in)
Overall Shaft Length    100.0 mm (3.93 in)
Max Lipo Cell    12s
Peak Current    104A (5 seconds)
Peak Power    4600 Watts (5 seconds)
Motor Timing    5deg

For this Motor the Castle 120 you have will work perfectly.

Cheers,
Mark

Yes, it will work fine on the SE. The motor was released in 2011, so it has been out for while.

Here is a you tube link using the motor you have: Synergy E7

I ran the 4035-500 on my E7 for a while months back.  It is fine for sport flying.  For those with excellent collective management it would be fine for 3D also ;D   As Mark has proven with that video!

WOW guys that was great, I think I could even go a smaller engine due to I'm not at that level of flying and will never get there.  I'm just too OLD to even think that fast. Thanks again for the help.  I'm sure I will have some Q's when I get to building this thing so keep the line open.  Let the build began!!!

Alan or Chris,

Did you get the brass bushing out of the tail slider to loctite it?  Mine is in there tight, was thinking on letting it go as is. Your thoughts. Thanks.

No, mine was VERY tight and I started damaging the brass so I let it go. I think the factory must have loctited it for us.  I will be watching mine. I hate not knowing for sure!

Hi all

I have a question to the Tail-Ratio and Tail-Blades. My headspeed will be mostly 1900 and 2100. So I think that the 106 Tail-Blades is the right one for me. But which Tail-Ratio do you recommend? This season I will train Funnels, TicToc, half Piroflips and Speedcircle. I guess 4.5:1 would be the right one.

What do you think?

Thx and regards
Tom

At 2100 you should be fine.  At 1900 you might see some degradation in tail authority.  You may want to consider using 116's on the tail. Unless you are running much lower head speeds, changing the tail ration should be unnecessary.
I am running 1950/2100 with 106's with no issues.

Ok, what's the trick to install the skid tube locks? How do you send them down the tube and end up with threads up? I'm sure it's easy but my thought process is not getting it. Help. Thanks.
