Hello all... and Matt!
First off, I 'd like to state, so far this heli has been a very nice build... Things go together well. All the parts are of good quality, overall it's a nice heli....
With that being said.... Please, for the love of all things good, find another (or Fix) supplier for threaded rods. I almost had my heli finished, but my fingers hurt too bad...
The threads on the rods are terrible, the absolute worst I've ever seen. It would appear they are pressed on, rather than machined... (I don't know much about the manufacturing process, so I'm just guessing) The threads are not very deep, they don't grab well, when starting out.... Basically, I hate 'em. To get them to thread on, I have to push the rod and the ball together with quite a bit of force, and try to turn them at the same time.... Every once in awhile, I get a side of a link which threads on fine.... I even tried using it for the other links... I threaded them on the good link, then went back to the "bad" link, hoping it would just thread on.... no joy....
It's just something I wanted to make you aware of... I'm already past the point possibly buying new links.... Just going to pull out my "mechanics gloves" today, and hope to get the pitch rods done, which is all I have left to build.....
Please, oh please, consider some sort of fix.... Maybe if I even knew the size of the rods, I might look for a "die" to help cut the threads... But, in my oh so humble opinion, I really think you need to fix this.... Or, at least tell me what the secret is for threading them on, without tearing up my fingers.... (I have built, many, many helis, and these are just terrible...)
I hate to even mention one negative thing, it has always been my least favorite part of building, which is why I own the link maker 9000, but the links don't fit.... Neither do any of my ball link holder, thread on, thingys....
Thanks,
Joe_Breezy
