 It's not anything new others have done it, but man what a heli!
E5 SS
Scorpion HKIII 4025-550
Old Hacker X-80 Pro ESC
7S TP 65C 4400
CGY750/HW Phase sensor
BLS 255/256 W/ WR Hercules BEC
118/15T gears
E7SE tail gears
1400 RPM at 4 1/2 min and batteries are at storage voltage.

Little big man fly's great. I've done quite a few conversions and stretches over the years.
This stretch fly's better than anything before it IMO..

That's really cool, Chuck!  I still can't get over just how many different setups I've seen done with the E5 between all the different battery configurations and blade lengths.

I saw Chris John's super stretch at the Snohomish fun fly and that thing auto'd for days!

Even fit a old E7 canopy to it for some nite flying.

That looks terrific Chuck. Are you running 696 blades or 716 blades? I have been getting this idea around for awhile, is there a parts list around are we just using the E7 torque tube?

 Running 696 mains and 106 tails.
I'm using now..
320-154 54T spur gear
320-111H 11T spur gear
315-140  E7 tail boom
320-012  E7 torque tube
315-117  E7 boom support
315-111  E7 tail pushrod

1100 in FM1
1250 in FM2
1400 in FM3

 I found out the hard way about 1600 and 1700 RPM for 5 or 6 min.. Don't do it with 7S 4400.
Also it's kinda tail heavy with the 4025 motor. Contemplating on 4035 500 with a 8S stick pack.
I modified the rear canopy mount with a E7SE mount and experimenting with a E7 canopy.

I run Pulse 7s 5000mah 45c packs so I think that may help in the CG department. I threw my tail boom (complete with tail blades) from my E7 on my E5 and it seems to do ok. I will be running a 4225 though so I will need to read up on making it fit, I know I have seen a few threads. Yay for winter projects! I actually hope to have it all together in time for the Orlando Heli Blowout. I run the same head speeds as you, but I seem to spend most of my time @ 1250. It is great to sit out there for 10 minutes, I even get booo'd sometimes ;-) Jokingly of course. Since I attempt to fly as smooth as possible and the low head speed, most of the plane guys at the field go right up with me no problem at all.

 Well after driving a stake through a 2 year old 7s 4400 65C pack this weekend.
Fixing to preform a 8s lipo transplant.

 Hey Greg, it's doing good.

 Balance is a bit of a issue but I'm fixing to put a 4035 560 in it, and go to a Scorpion 90A ESC.  That ought to get the cg back in line without adding ballast. Also have a ext. gov mode.
I've put maybe 10 flights on it so far on the 8S setup.  Head speed tops out around 1600. Need to weigh it again
when everything gets changed out, so I'm not sure what the all up weight is yet.
Still a very light 700 though. Flight times have been around 5 min and barely putting 49% back in the pack.
