Main shaft?????'s

Is the pinch collar on the main shaft designed to eliminate play in the shaft??
Or should there be no play BEFORE the collar is installed???
I can pull up and down on shaft before installing collar is this normal or have I assembled wrong???

You can do it both ways, but there should be a shim in the extra parts bag you can put between the lower collar and the middle main bearing to illuminate the play. Not all installs need it. The tolerances are tight but Matt did include the shim just in case.
