The Align starter is a geared down motor. The gear will pulse the owb in the clutch and eventually will wreck it.

Buy once, buy right.... A well used and well respected statement!

Buy a Sullivan Dynatron starter, and a quality wand with a built in OWB.

Mine has been faultless for years, I run it on a 4s 3000 lipo. 6s could damage your motor in a hydrolock.

+1 I also run mine on 4s. Plenty of torque for every motor I have ever tried.

Has anyone had a problem with the CF Lower Frame Brace 315-105 not having counter sunk holes? Page 9 in the manual shows that they are countersunk...

I don't believe we have any reports of that.  I assume you have the correct brace?  Hard to tell from the angle of the photo.  Are you sure you have not used the lateral frame brace 317-104? It does does not have countersunk holes.  Also assume you have checked both sides of the the 315-105.  Not to be demeaning but we do need to cover all the possibilities.  Could you post another photo showing the whole brace?

If you do have a faulty part then we will get you a correct one or you can easily countersink the holes.  We need to know either way though.

Cheers

G'day Alan, I have definitely got the correct piece (315-105), but I did make a mistake when referencing the page numbers in the manual as it is actually page 7 that I was referring to not page 9.

I've spoken to one of the other fellas with a kit also from the first shipment to Australia and he had the same issue. Please see the three attached photos for reference.
It's not a great problem as I will just use some hex cap head screws instead of the supplied ones.

All in all it's been a great kit thus far and I am pleased with the tolerances that everything is manufactured to, although I've had a other small problem with the little threaded barrels that go inside the landing skids that the legs screw into. One of them had next to no thread in it and it stripped out with only finger pressure on the hex driver. Once again nothing I can't fix relatively easily.

Cheers
Matt

My production kit I am building in the video was also missing the counter sink drilling. You can counter sink them yourself or I just replaced the counter sink screws with cap screws from my parts bin.

Matt,

Thanks for posting those other photos.

I would use button heads if you have them.

Matt will be informed of the oversight.

Thanks so much Matt for mentioning this and understanding :-)

Cheers

I had the same issue. I was able to countersink them by hand.

Do you think it'll be ok if I zip tie the cyclic servo wires to the top of upper bearing block so I can put my fbl system in the front.

Just protect the servo wires from chaffing.

That's exactly how I have mine on all of my Synergy helis.  One thing that's really cool about the N7 is that there are some small slots cut in the frame, near the front, that are meant for running zip ties through to secure your servo wires.  Very slick!
