« on: December 22, 2013, 05:12:52 PM »
What Receiver packs are you guys using? Why? I noticed Darren posted you need to get something a bit heavy like 2s 4000 Mah for weight ?? I am using the YS 91 Tareq motor ..

Thanks,
Rick

I am running the OS105 with PowerBoost pipe. I too went with the 4000mAh 2s pack, I got 1 from Pulse and 1 from Gens Ace on the way.  These make the nose balance perfectly!

I have a few of the Pulse Ultra 2550 packs. They work but I was going to have to add a little lead to the nose. The frame on this heli is so light.

I wound up using 2-3600mah pulse packs piggyback with a parallel connector= probly 2 days of flying, and the CG is just right.

Using a 3600 2s Pulse pack, CG is perfect with one, just hung it a little forward on the nose.

Guys,

The battery you use is dependent upon what electronics you mount on the nose of the helicopter. If you are the type of hobbyist that has a lot of gizmos and gadgets(switch-glo, regulator, battery voltage monitor, etc) then you will likely need a 2500-2700mah pack. If you are more simplistic like me and only run the bare minimum then you will need a 3800mah - 4000mah RX pack for perfect CG.

Hope that helps.

Thanks,
Matt

Hi Matt,

If I read you well, your suggestion seems to be more oriented towards achieving a correct CG (have more gizmos - then use a small battery / have no gizmos - then use a large battery).

This sounds fine from a CG perspective ... but a bit counter intuitive from a battery power utilization (if you are using more gizmos ... you should need more power !).   ;D
