N7 Electronics Placement Pic Thread...........
« on: January 28, 2014, 10:36:53 AM »
Thought this might be a good place for all of the Synergy N7 owners to share photos of how their machines look with electronic layouts.  This can give new owners ideas of what others are using and how they have things mounted/arranged.  Never know, might find a few ideas out there that you'd want to implement on your own machine!

The above photo shows an overview of my SK540 with power buss.  In this post you can see the bind plug used to turn the electronics on when pulled.  Doing this allows me to fly multiple times without pulling the canopy.  The fuel lines show the extra vent port I added so as to allow me to refuel without shoving fuel through the MOAS clunk backwards.  The switch glo is 3M taped to the right side frame under the battery tray.

Wow. A voltage regulator really crowds things up quite a bit. If I could find a high quality failsafe switch, I would ditch mine.

I am using a Jeti DPS40 failsafe switch hidden under the electronics plate.  Hard to even see in these photos..

Honestly if I had to remove the canopy each flight to change batteries as in the electric birds I probably wouldn't use the power bus and switch.  I had this setup on my previous heli and I found I really love the convenience of the switch as well as the switch glo.  For me they are both worth the couple ounces they add.  I suppose if I flew without the canopy like a lot do, a trend I find dumb BTW, I might go without both.  I suspect I would notice getting THAT much weight off the bird.

I tried to keep simple and not half to remove the canopy to turn on also. I get 4 safe flights out of my pack.

OK, here's mine with Vbar, Perfect regs Duo Pro switch and Glo igniter, yes it will be great not having to take the canopy off every time.
Also I have a mini throttle servo and Carb Smart ready to go once the engine is tuned. Tested today, engine starts fine but installed an Align sensor after my telemetry reading were not correct off the backplate sensor. The Vbar PC readings are fine now so happy that the governor will work fine.
Under the plate I have the Perfect Regs main PCB and Spektrun TM1000 telemetry, great for checking head temperature, RX battery voltage and hopefully RPM.

The TM1000 will do RPM no problem.  Just splice a wire from the signal wire of the sensor into the TM1000.  Works great and eliminates me needing somebody at the field with a tach in order to check my headspeed either on a new build or after some tweaking.

Agree but my telemetry today showed crazy readings, so have the Align sensor for Vbar and Spektrum backplate for the TM1000, had the signal wire from the backplate feeding both, maybe need to play with the spektrum sensor spacing. Maybe the Align might feed both may try that too.

I told my parents I wanted to be a pilot when I grew up; they said I could'nt do both...
