Any plans for a hard coat 14T

Running the KDE 700XF 495Kv and the normal 14T pinion seems to get rough fast.  That is the one that Patrick (KDE) recommended.  So, does anyone know if there will be a hard coat one like the 305-012H and 305-013H?

In answer to the question, I don't know. However we are running the same motors and pinions.  When I changed from 12 to 14 tooth I also replaced the main gear and have noticed substantially less pinion wear. Maybe worth a shot.

I still have yet to maiden my E7SE; too cold out for my winpy fingers. 


I have mine setup with the 13T hard coat pinion.  I set the VBar to govern at 2105, 2061, and 2022.  I just looks to me that the 14T pinion may be a tad high.

My target head speed is 2150 - 2200 (2150 is perfect), but when talking to Patrick he recommended the 14T for more headroom.  I have run the 13T for a while, but with my lack of collective management I do see a lot of variance in the Castle logs.

What head speeds are you running?

On this one I am switching from a silverline vbsr to a MSH Brain - I used a Brain on my E5 stretched and I love it!  It certainly is amazing what a well designed helicopter will make a FBL unit feel like!  I had given up on the Brain unit due to my experiences with it on a Trex 600 DFC, but on the E5s it feels 100% better...

I have the VBar governor set to 2022-2061-2105rpm with 716/106 blades using the stock 4.9:1 tail ratio.  I am waiting for the weather to cooperate so I can maiden it.


Although I am happy with the VBar, it is hard to ignore the iKon.  Great reviews, many neat features, and better price point.  I believe I will try the iKon next.

1950,2200,2400.  Most of the time is spent at 1950. 2200 works great with plenty of headroom. I only go 2400 when I get a wild hair.

2400 - Wow!  I put the pole count in wrong once in the vbar gov (and only once) and ran wide open for a few seconds before realizing my error.  I did fly it for a minute and marveled at the power!

Pretty sure it was around 2400 - 2500 (I have the Castle logs  somewhere), but it was with a smaller pinion.  Here is a video of someone running 2500 with E7 and 7000XF - http://youtu.be/47q9Qa_bbnY.
