I always use the grommets but on the rjx I didnt. The servo hold tabs are a bit thick and I had problems damaging the servo lead so I took the grommets out and mounted solid.

Yeah, I've noticed with the cyclics that where the lead enters the case it is a very tight up against the upper bearing block. I was considering chamfering the back side of the bearing block, but hard mounting the servos might be an easier task.
