N5C Delivered Today - Question about battery
« on: November 01, 2011, 07:35:30 PM »
Hi All,

UPS did its THANG and delivery my kit today.

Took a quick peek inside the box and I like the quality that I see.  This should be a fun build.

First question. The manual recommends a 1800 mah battery and regulator.  What does Team Synergy recommend for this (battery brand and regulator make)?

Second, All main blades are not alike.  Since this is my first flybarless system. Which are the top three brands that are recommended.  Flying style is 3D...

Lastly,  What's used for glow starters?  Remote glow switch or ?

All recommendations welcome and thanks for your time.

Regards
Chuck

Hello Chuck,

Congrats on the new kit!  For a battery I recommend  using a Life 2100 mah pack regulating your tail servo and throttle servo (I use BLS 251 tail and FUT 9650 throttle). For your main blades go with the Rail 606mm blades... couldn't be a better match for this heli! Use the Rail 96mm tails to go with it. Lastly I use a switch glow with a push button start. Push glow will save some weight, but if you have a switch glow laying around go for it!

Good luck on the build!

Best Regards,
-Steve

Personally I recommend a 2200 to 2500 mAh pack. On a 2200 pack I can jut barely get 3 flights on with a BLS251 on the tail, three 8717s regular version, pushglo, and a Perfect Regulator at 6 volts, an AR8000 with telemetry, and a Beast X running 3.0. I also do not fly smack or 3D but rather slow basic movements, a.k.a. grand pappy flying.

Chuck,

Steve couldn't of said it Better!! He ,Matt and all the other guys have invested Tons of time in Figuring out how to get the most out of this already Perfect machine!, If you stick pretty close to the set ups of these helis you will be right there. alot of the Team Guys fly pretty much the same set ups. Alot of the Guys fly the Futaba CGY750, others V-bar, Beast-X. But in regards to the Switch glow and Blades and Servo Combinations, All the guys will say the same.. Rail Blades all day long. 96mm Rail Tails. Pay close attention to the Tips and Tricks post for this will help you in the long run in Proper set ups and overall flight performance. You will dial your heli in to what you like in regards to feel and Gains. We have all done the Home Work  with one thing in mind the absolute Best Performance. Pretty Much all the Guys are running the same Motor's and Pipes as well, and Headspeeds are for the most part very close.. Your going to really enjoy this Heli and even more Synergy as a Whole.. Everyone of these guys are hear for 2 reasons, Love for the Brand and Love for the Hobby! Never Hesitate to ask a question.  And lastly Congrats on your Purchase.

Rail 606 blades arrived today, rail t/b's arrived.  Just waiting to finish the rebuild on the YS 56 and the build will start.  I've been reading the tips so I should be ready to go.  Looks like the build will start next weekend.
