N5cTT Electronics Placement and wiring jobs...

As y'all know, Its been a while since Ive built a helicopter. I am looking for pics of different guys electronics placements on their N5's. I would like to do a really neat job with this installation. But that "neat" installation has proven to be elusive for me in the past. I am not going to customize the length of my servo wires or any of that stuff. I am merely looking for examples of placement that seems to simplify routing of wiring etc.


Please post any pics of examples you may have. Thanks again! Im just looking for ideas!

Chris, That looks very neat and clean. Can you get a pic from the top/front?
Is your receiver mounted under your tray?
Interesting switch you have there too. What battery power are you running?

Interesting switch you have there too. What battery power are you running?

I will get a picture of the front and under the battery tray for you tonight.

I haven't mounted the rx yet, but it will be on the side of the frame opposite the Regulator.

I am running a 2s lipo with an all HV system.  The regulator is set to pass voltage direct. I am only using it for a mechanical on/off switch and integrated glow driver.  IT's very light weight!

ducatman2, Im just trying to figure out where all those wires go. Man, I once had a t-rex 600 I had wired in a similar fashion. It doesn't bother anything until you have an incident that grabs ahold of a few wires and bang, up jumps a big problem.

I like your bird. I'm not trying to be insensitive or mean but dude, you gotta do something with that birds nest.

Any preference on 2S LiPo versus LiFe ?

don't worry, I am conscious of this special wiring :-). I was in a hurry to flight....

In fact, there is more density of wiring in my cas, because the Hitec telemetry devices (one station, power supply wires, data wires, temp probes, etc..) and the SBUS adaptor from Futaba, in order to use the governor mode of the IKON....

And the KST wires seem to be very long regarding the other suppliers.

I think,  when the tuning of my OS 55 HZR will be optimal, I will remove the telemetry.

Good to know all that stuff! ;) I was concerned for you man! How do you like the telemetry stuff? Is it useful or is it just bells and whistles from a real world sense? There was no telemetry available for us when we were last flying.

Hello, in this case, I use only the temperature probes to monitor the engine. It is a way for me to check if my engine is too lean or not.

I have understood the optimal temperature is near 90°C (194°F). Up to now, I reach 70°C (158°F) with the medium needle e at 3/4 opened, and the high speed needle at 1 1/4 opened.

Regarding the other probes: before I tried a GPS sensor just for fun (speed and altitude), but it died in flight...

And on my last electric helicopters, I had a current probe to monitor the BEC of my ESC, in order to be sure of its capacities to provide a good level of current.

But after the adjustment phasis, there is no more interest to keep them.

we all love our wiring to be as neat as possible, but as long as you know where every one of them goes (and if you built it, you should know it inside and out), I don't see an issue with it....
