Today im very proud owner of a e5, Now I know what you guys rave about . Wow what a great kit, Parts look so well made. This is what I have been looking for months, a very high quality. Im very impressed. I build a lot of kits before, this is going to be great. So far I have the E5, HKIII 4025-1100KV , CC EDGE 120 HV, 556 Blades 96 tails, Ikon fbl system with 2 sats for spectrum, Torq servos for cyclic, Matts grease and sizer. Turnigy batt 5000 35-70c and a dynamite charger. Still waiting on cc bec pro and a BK servo for the tail, computer cable for castle link. I feel like a child on Christmas morning. I would like to thank Matt for this great helicopter. Cliff

Welcome to the synergy family!

Why don't you like the Torq servos? It has been my experience that they are pretty much one of the best, it used to be all I flew. They are much less power hungry than the JR servos. Flying spectrum,  that is something to keep in mind. Spectrum browns out much much easier than futaba does....the Torq servos only need a very small amount of shimming to get them in the E5, both of mine have them installed right now.

You are going to LOVE this helicopter dude! It's just great!

Welcome to Synergy!  Also, which torq servos do you not like?  I have the new 9288 on one now for the tail and love it.  About to replace my 256 on another heli because the 9288 is performing so well.

The build is going great, everytime i get stuck. I look on this forum, and someones allready gone threw this. Chris's  Video, are just great with the ESC and the ikon set up. I set up my esc that way, so i will use the ikon gov. Wow this will be cool. Whats very strange too me is no real throttle curve, makes me a little crazy, How fast will gov. kick in on lift off when at 30%, I have never flown with a gov. Chris your pics are great too help me on wiring this thing. Boto grease on all thrust bearing, locktight anything metal to metal, and i did not forget the set screws in the tailbox and trans. The feathering spindal was god awfull tight, i had rotator cuff surgery 3 weeks ago, grandson helped hold to break it loose, the greased everything and put blue lock tight on 4mm bolts. Still waiting on a few things to come in. This helicopter is the best kit i have ever put together, everything slides  smooth, gear mesh is smooth. How could anyone compare this with Align. Hats off to you Matt, what a great machine :)

Glad it's going well!

On the governor thing and no throttle curves.  What I do it flip it out of TH into normal mode at half-stick and let it spool up on the ground until I hear the governor engage.  You will hear the RPMs increasing and then, at some point, you will hear it back off just a little and settle at the target RPM.  After that, you can either go to IU and take off or just take off.
