Nick wobble

Hey guys,
sorry for my really bad english ;)! im from switzerland ;) hope u understand me a little bit ;)
I got a Problem for a longer time now with 2 FBL Systems, its always the same effect. In straight flights and slow pirouetting circles the Tail wobbles up and down a little bit. i tried to change gyro gains etc. but its not better. in hard tictocs or fast figures i didnt have the problem. the heli has 180 flights on it. should i change de head dampeners and the thrust bearings in the head?
Does anyone have this problem too or know a reason for me?

greetz and thx for ur answers!

chris

Hi chris, I am working through the same issue, elevator wobble.  I have mine almost tuned out on my sk540.  My cyclic gain needed to be lowered.  V4 firmware seems to require alot less cyclic gain than previous versions in my case.    Current cyclic gain of 45 still shows some wobble/bounce.  I have turned it down to 40 to test this weekend.

It would help to know what fbl units your using.  In my post there was a reply about the heads not liking the blades to tight.  Also there are the trueblood dampers someone else posted about to help with the issue.  I don't know the best combination for the progressive dampening system for my E5 though.  I am going to try some kdbb dampers as they are readily available here.

I hooe something i said helps as I do noy know your fbl unit or how tight you like your blades.   I think I covered most of the generic info provided to me.  Here is the link to my thread from a few days ago.

Hi Chris, they only time i have seen this up and down shaking, tail shaft tweek out or a bearing in the tail blade, does do it at all head speeds? sometime just banging it getting out of car can be enough to knock it out, tail blades look good? I would look over the tail very close, also i have seen when one tail blade is real tight and the other one loose. But im sure most of the guys here know more then me. Any wobble in tail blade holders? Hope this helps,
Cliff

Chris also check for ttube bearing, i had one go one a nitro ship do that to me years ago, mine made a strange buzz noise, and shake up and down

Thx guys,

Im using a spartan vortex vx1e, before a vortex vx1 to test and first the msh brain. All with the same wobble. I have checked now my tailboom struts and the complete heli. I changed the thrust and the radial bearing in the blade grips and switched the dampeners from my old crashed head to this one. I thought the old dampeners with ca. 120 flights are harder than this i had in my mounted head..

Tomorrow i will test it again.

Cheers chris

Have you looked at the thrust bearings in the head? If they have ever suffered an impact or enough trauma for the balls to dent the races a little bit it could possibly cause strange elevator behavior. I had this happen with a TDR a while back.

Edit: I just saw that you changed them already... lol sorry about that! Good luck!

Thx for ur help! Now its very nice. New bearings and dampeners in the Head and a reset of the vortex. Now it flies really good!!
Looking forward to the next 500 flights! Love my Synergy Birds E5 and N7!!

What is your head speed, often seen this on birds with the head speed too low.

1700 is right within that range that can sometimes be wobbly.

Has anyone tested other dampeners in the e5? Trueblood or something?

Hey Guys,
Update: 😉  the wobble comes and goes sometimes and i have changed the dampeners without a better result. Now i have changed my old bls451 futabas to BK Servos and the wobble is definitly away! Now its really precise and locks good on cyclic stops!

Maybe this can help anyone else who has the same problem.
