Any word on the gear replacement.   All of our models have this issue with landing gear.  Is there a synergy gear that will raise the model up a little?

766 skids will bolt on, however they are significantly shorter. I don't think they would be a good solution in this case.

It's kind of hard to tell in the pic but the 766 skids sit about 1/4" lower than the standard skids on all the other models.

I thought about modeling up a spacer for the rear strut that could be 3D printed cheaply, if anyone's interested.

Let me know if you have a file on thingiverse. I have a friend with a printer and I'd be down to try it out.

This is common with many helis. Turning the struts around so they're raked back rather than forward can minimize this as the rear strut is further back from the CG providing a better lever. A friend I fly with did this. I've resisted, but I find the issue is manageable simply by storing the helis with a few #64 rubber bands tensioning the rear struts when it's in storage. I tried a little work with a heat gun but you have to re-heat them periodically and  I don't wanna spend 10 minutes with the heatgun every week. The rubber bands are only about 5 seconds of work to put on each time I leave the field.

I store my helis on the wall nose up, eye bolts in the wall, slide front skids in the drop back skids in, I have eye  bolts set up to lightly pinch the skids in.

Good idea too. Might use that idea.. I use the Random mounts to hang my birds.. But only use 2 (1set) for each heli.. & u can see where the rear skids are wider due to the weight n hanging.. Never really paid much attention to them at the field tho.. But I'm not liking the tail fin I the ground.. Good idea!

These are the landing gear I put the N9. It is made of aluminum. Of course, the weight of the helicopter is less than the initial because a different  Frame. So far I am pleased. So for the record that this helicopter has taken part in competitions 3DX 2008 piloted by Luca Invernizzi.
