Canopy mounts
« on: June 15, 2015, 02:21:59 AM »
Hi Guys,

I am starting to get sick of the front mounts on the E5, I have seen people using the N7 mounts on the E7, do the N7 front canopy mounts just bolt on the E5 or do you need to space them out? Anyone have some pictures if they have mounted them on the frames?

Thanks,

//Dennis.

I cant remember if i am using n5 or n7 mounts for the fronnon my e5.  I had to use a spacer to get the post out a bit farther and the clips bolted right on the canopy as is.  Works great.

I have no problem with the e5 key mounts, line up front first then the back takes me 5-10 secs

Thanks guys, I have my packs as far forward as they can go so the standard front mounts don't just slip in. Does anyone have an idea of how much the N7 mounts need to be spaced out? Is it just a couple of washers or does it need to come out further? It looks like it only needs washers on the E5 but I am guessing the frames are not the same width as the E5.

Another option is to use the Quick UK TX7F-05 TREX 700N magnetic mounts on the front on both the E5 and the E7SE.  This thread on this forum that discusses these magnetic mounts.  The long pair of studs work perfectly on the E5 and the E7SE, but you can use the shorter pair of studs with 2mm spacers.  I tried the shorter studs without spacers, but the canopy rubbed against the main gear.

Here are some pics of the studs on the E7SE

I had a set of those quick UK magnetic mounts on my last N5c. I didn't think you could get them anymore though?

I can't find them in the usual stores here in the US.  I've ordered from the Quick UK store in 2011, and got the items in exactly 7 days from when I placed the order.  This is the link.  They have them in stock.

They always seem to have a lot of items that are harder to find at most places. I have ordered a lot of random stuff like these, and various nitro accessories from them.

I grabbed a set of the N7 mounts tonight and a variety of spacers to get the mounts in the right place for the canopy but will try fitting them after I fly tomorrow.

I just found these Quick UK magnetic mounts in my drawer.  I have a NIP blue 700N full set and two sets of short studs, one blue set and one red set.  I don't see myself needing them any time soon.
