Head block not tight on main shaft

Hey guys,  I'm new here but not at all new to the hobby.

After recently building an N7, I've noticed the head block doesn't fully pinch down on the main shaft.

The headhead block can slide up and down with ease. 

The bigger problem is tho,  that the head block actually teeters slightly on the main shaft and I think this is caused from the "special"  bolt that secures it to the main shaft.

I think the tolerances of the "special" bolt and the hole in the main shaft leave too much play.

Anyone else noticed this?

If I understand the design correctly the Jesus or Special screws function is more of an initial locator for height and possible back up for the pinch screws that go through the swash followers.  With the pinch screws properly torqued the head shouldn't move no matter what even if you were to remove the Jesus screw.

^ Really..  My pinch bolts are very tight, and if I remove the 'special'  jesus bolt, the head block will slide up and down with ease. I wouldn't say it is sloppy,  but easily can slide up and down on main shaft.

The pinch bolts are tight, but the head block slots haven't compressed very much if any,  and I think I may strip the threads if I go any tighter.

Having trouble with pics atm.  Trying to reduce the file size.

I shouldn't have poked my nose in as Chris is already working with you. (Sorry Chris! - I owe you a drink at IRCHA to go with your free lunch lol), but I'll leave with a couple questions:
1. Can you see the gap in the head block close as you tighten the pinch bolts?
2. Is the slit free of burrs or debris that could prevent it from tightening properly?

Yep free of burs. Definitely can't go any tighter as I feel it will strip. The gap doesn't seem to be closing.

Just to throw this out there, I think you have the arms on backwards. Your bolts are going into the threaded side first so it can't tighten up.
I'm not trying to step on any toes, but I think this info will prevent unwanted troubles and speed up your troubleshooting.

Yep Mark is absolutely correct you have the follower arms bolted to the wrong side of the head. They should bolt to the right side and travel left. What's happening is you are screwing into the threaded area and not pinching the head at all.
