N5C BUILD QUESTION

(1/1)

Scooterpilot:
The tail boom supports.  Do you epoxy the ends of do are you using CA?

Thanks

Darren Lee:
I'm sure either would work but I always use medium CA.  Most guys will recommend pinning the supports as well.

Scooterpilot:
thanks

Ross Lawton:
Hi Chuck,

I usually use epoxy and rough up the ends of the carbon a little with sandpaper, makes a better bond.

I also get some M3x10 button head bolts and drill though the carbon rod and install the bolts, it's a bit of a belt & braces approach but i never have any issues with the supports.

Hope this helps!
cheers
Ross

belcom:
I screwed up when using regular CA.  Somehow I did not notice that one of the boom supports turned out to be a bit longer and no way of redoing it because CA dries in mere seconds.  So I would use epoxy next time.  At least you have a little bit of time until it dries and make sure they're same length.
