I love mine as well. I have 2. one with a ys120srx and one with a os105, they both fly incredible. the 105 has plenty of power, but the 120 sure is nice also :)

Helis aren't like cell phones where new versions come out every year by multi billion dollar companies to fuel the endless desire of needing something new just to have new. Blood, sweat and tears make sure these things are rock solid for 4-5 years without the need for constant updates year after year.

I'm a Futaba user, what servos would you recommend in the N7? I am a sports flyer with a little bit of F3C flying thrown in there.

Hello!

Synergy helicopters are designed to use Futaba servos. Futaba helicopter servos are great, but very pricey, and lack the specifications of their competitiors. The N7 would for sure be fine with the BLS272SV  amd BLS274SV as tail servo. But these are far more costly than for example Align 615 for cycle and 655 for tail that would satisfy most of the sport fliers. Alright, the Futaba servos are with brushless motors and the Align ones have coreless motors. It is an ongoing debate as to prefere coreless vs. brushless servos and the brushless servos are more expensive to produce than servos with coreless motors. Not so much debate about power consumtion, the brushless servos are far better here, but does it really matter? Just check your battery packs and keep them big enough. I would advise you to go for the Align 615/655 servos (produced by Savox) , or the equivalent Savox servos. These acutally outperforme the  pricey Futba BLS 272SV/BLS 274SV, altough being coreless and 6V servos.

futaba servos are under-spec'ed. mine have proven to be much stronger than the specs claim they are (vs an equal other brand servo). I personally have futaba servos on my N7's because they were already on them when I bought them. all my other helis have OMG servos on them. talk about strong, and fast, the OMG servos are arguably the strongest servo on the market per their specs. I have 0 complaints with OMG, they have be great servos, and I have never had a failure.

Partial to MKS servos myself, and have had very good experiences with Futaba servos as well. I'd probably use a set of bls272sv for the N7. If I wanted to go all out I'd step it up to the bls275sv. I never have gotten along with Align servos, but I know lots of people use them. Everybody has their preferences for one reason or another.

I have Align 815/855 in my N7 and they are produced by OMG and are as you say maybe the strongest servo on the marked per specs. These are working great so far but I don't have more than about 100 flights with them yet so I will see how they keep up.

I'm a MKS guys myself... They have a great line up and various models to fit the bill... Coreless, brushless, 6v, HV... U can even get ones with larger splines... Specs on all seem on par with today's standards for heli servos. The price range is good too IMO... Pay for what u get as with anything else. Never had an issue with any of the ones I own.. And they are on every bird I own.

Yup, you cannot go wrong with MKS servos, they have all ranges of servos to fit anybodys requirements for hlicopter use. I just don't like that they have a bit different dimensions to standard servos, and that they do not have the standard 25 splines Futaba output shaft. And, I may be wrong here, but I have not found plastic servo horns for them, as is required in the Synergy helicopters.

MKS mini and standard servos are all standard Futaba spline except for the X8 series' huge spline. Custom Heli Parts makes carbon arms to fit the round aluminum X8 hubs exactly like the Synergy design. MKS micro servos are the only other ones that have a proprietary spline. As far as standard dimensions, there is no actual "standard". Their hole spacing and length and width matches most everything. They do tend to be a little taller than some others, but not majorly so and they've fit in every application I've wanted them for.

Hello again Danny!
I stand corrected to what servo horns fit the MKS servos! But also the X8 series needs a plastic servohorm choice. Synergy helikcopters rely on that one uses a plastic servohorm as this will strip in a crash saving the gears in the servo. I do not understand why MKS does not deliver this option in their top servos.

Hi Mike!

Have a look at the Align 815/855 and their specs, and then look at the equvalent OMG's. There can be no doubt in my mind that these are the same servo. If you can find any one else brand making the Align servos I would fint it very interesting.

It would indeed be nice if they would make a plastic wheel like the aluminum one for the X8s. I have to give it up for MKS though, their servos can take a serious beating. I've been running a set of X8s on one of my E7s for a while, and they've remained tight and have not stripped yet even through a couple of mishaps... even landing on the head and bending the crap out of the main shaft, etc.

I just verified with the u.s. distributer less than 2 min ago that they are not made by the same people. similar specs only mean similar specs. they probably tried to match the OMG published specs if you ask me. OMG servos are extremely strong...
